Title IX, Kennedy Politics, Carlson on Rogan

If your definition of God does not upset and offend you, you are not worshiping God but a figment of your imagination

Title IX Changes

The Biden administration unveiled revised Title IX regulations, outlined in a lengthy 1,500-page document, bringing forth multiple changes. The document asserts that sex discrimination encompasses stereotypes, characteristics, and pregnancy, applying not only to colleges but also to elementary and secondary schools. The most controversial change is the addition of sexual orientation and gender identity to the definition of "sex" in Title IX regulations. Critics argue these revisions undermine traditional values and jeopardize women's rights, particularly concerning sex-separated facilities and sports opportunities for girls. Former DOE Senior Counsel Sarah Parshall Perry and Nicole Neily, President of Parents Defending Education, expressed concern over the erosion of sex-separated facilities and the perceived concession to extremists. Legal challenges are anticipated, as critics argue the reinterpretation of Title IX ignores its original intent and disregards public opinion.

When someone tells you what their "no. 1 priority" is, believe them. Unfortunately, Joe Biden continues to fulfill his campaign promise of making LGBTQ+ issues his top priority. Truth does not change (Psalm 119:160), and unlike the politicians of our day, the Lord is not beholden to voters and special interest groups. Thankfully, we worship a God whose words stand forever true (Isaiah 40:8) and who does as He pleases (Psalm 115:3).

If the law is a teacher, and it certainly is (Galatians 3:24), one ought to consider: what is the Biden Administration seeking to teach those from kindergarten through college about themselves and the world around them? Make no mistake, you cannot be "pro-women" if you do not know what one is. In this cultural moment, the truth of 1 Corinthians 1:25 is evident: the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom. This revision of Title IX is nothing short of the Biden Administration continuing to walk further away from what, a short time ago, we would have all agreed is "reality." They have already turned their back on women, biology, natural law, God's Word, and common sense on this issue.

As believers, we must remember the same reason we diligently contend for the truth about sex and gender is the same reason we stand up for human rights—all are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). And because God knows best, we must pray for those who oppose God and His truth (Matthew 5:44). Strive to contend for the faith and for the truth and seek to love others in all we do (Jude 1:3, 2 Corinthians 13:8, 1 Corinthians 16:14).

Kennedy Family Supports Biden

Last week, RFK Jr. made headlines when he secured a spot on the Michigan ballot, a crucial swing state in 2024. After receiving only two votes, that of the Natural Law Party chairman and secretary, Kennedy received the due nomination that will allow his name to appear on the MI ballot, a major campaign victory.

Later that same day, prominent members of the Kennedy political dynasty, including Kerry Kennedy, endorsed Joe Biden's re-election campaign, highlighting his alignment with the values of the late Robert F Kennedy and John F Kennedy. They praised Biden's dedication to the rights and freedoms their father and uncle stood for. The endorsement, made at a Biden campaign event in Philadelphia, underscored a familial repudiation of Robert F Kennedy Jr's independent White House run.

RFK Jr. has made waves in his independent campaign with much more success and attention than anyone has seen since Theodore Roosevelt in 1912. While the lack of support from his (extended) family could seem peculiar, it is not surprising when a family like the Kennedys purportedly puts "politics" over relationships (it's worth noting that RFK Jr does have the support of his wife and children). When what is good, true, lovely, pure, honorable, and worthy of praise (Philippians 4:8) is promoted over what is "relationally convenient," then it is an admirable thing to publicly disagree with family or friends. (After private conversations (Matthew 18:15-16), seeking understanding (Proverbs 4:7, Proverbs 18:2), and efforts are made to have "one mind" (Philippians 2:2)). However, it is clear that the Kennedy family is not promoting what is good, true, lovely, etc..

The current positions maintained by the Democratic party and President Biden in relation to sex, gender, marriage, and life are completely incompatible with a Christian worldview. Though RFK Jr. may or may not be sad (or surprised) that he does not have the support of his brothers and sisters, he should be even more sad that his family, himself included, struggles to fully understand the value of life and the blessing of surrender to God's Design and created order.

Carlson on Rogan

Tucker Carlson graced the Joe Rogan Experience on Friday, where they discussed everything from freedom of speech to UFOs, AI, media, government, intelligence, and more. Rogan boasts a 16-million subscriber audience, and the video of the episode alone has 4.5 million views since it aired. Carlson and Rogan share in their passion for story-telling and truth-seeking, never shying away from controversy. In their latest conversation, Carlson briefly discussed some of the personal and governmental dysfunctions hardly hidden in Washington, D.C., that he alleges pose a major threat to our democracy. (*Listener discretion advised*).

This episode boasts a large swath of topics, not all of which deserve our attention and concern. What undoubtedly deserves our concern is the suggestion that there is fear in Washington that directly impacts our leader's and statesmen's ability to lead with integrity and conviction. Tucker's assertion that there is blackmail in the hands of the “powerful” related to the sexual preferences and hidden lives of many is a tragedy and, unfortunately, not all that hard to imagine.

As believers, our command is to ruthlessly eliminate hidden sin from our own lives (James 5:16)… and not just so that we cannot be "controlled" or blackmailed" by someone with power over us, but so that sin itself and the deceiver do not have power over us (Romans 6:6-7, 14). Freedom is the way of the remnant (Romans 8:1, Galatians 5:1). It is true that there is no sin so great that it cannot be forgiven by the cross. There is also no job, position, amount of money, or illusion of freedom, happiness, and comfort that justifies the true cost of hiding sin (Psalm 32:3, Proverbs 28:13a). Sin has appropriate consequences, but the freedom and grace that greets the one who confesses and repents also promises to sustain those who walk that narrow road (1 John 1:9, Titus 3:5, Hebrews 4:16).

Pray for our leaders (1 Timothy 2:1-2)... sin is so pervasive, power so deceptive, and the enemy so cunning that we do not need to be convinced that darkness is having its day in our Nation's capital.
