Trump Off CO Ballot, Mifeprestone to Supreme Court, Pope Francis Same-Sex Blessings
Quote of the day:
"We all want progress. But progress means getting nearer to the place where you want to be. And if you have taken a wrong turn, then to go forward does not get you any nearer. If you are on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; and in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive man."
- C.S. Lewis

Trump Off The Ballot In CO
In a groundbreaking decision, the Colorado Supreme Court voted 4-3 to remove former President Donald Trump from the state's 2024 presidential ballot, citing the 14th Amendment's "insurrectionist ban." The court held that Trump's active role in the January 6 Capitol riot constituted insurrection, making him ineligible for public office. The ruling, effective January 4 pending a likely appeal, highlights Trump's deliberate efforts to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power, was deemed a violation of Section Three of the 14th Amendment.
Despite Trump's dismissal of the challenge as baseless and anti-democratic, the decision triggers a potential legal battle set to escalate to the U.S. Supreme Court. Trump's campaign plans to appeal, branding the ruling as "completely flawed." If the appeal reaches the U.S. Supreme Court by January 4, the decision's implementation may be delayed, potentially allowing Trump to participate in Colorado's primary on March 5.
The broader impact of the ruling and its fate at the U.S. Supreme Court remain uncertain, introducing a significant dimension to the unfolding political landscape. It is important to note that Donald Trump has not been charged nor found guilty of inciting an insurrection.

10 truths about law & justice:
It is good that we live in a land of governed by a constitution, that was written by praying men, concerned with honoring God, which has proven itself over the test of time (Proverbs 24:3-4). It doesn’t matter how good a constitution is if the hearts of those to be governed by it are unrestrained by morality and religion (Ezekiel 2:7).
Judges will be held accountable for every decision they make (Proverbs 22:8).
We should not be surprised that there are injustices, corruption, or prejudice on this earth, (Ecclesiastes 4:1-3) but God’s people should not add to them (1 Peter 3:16).
Rushing to judgment on someone’s guilt or innocence is unwise (Proverbs 19:2).
Fretting over things we cannot control is useless and leads only to trouble (Matthew 6:34).
Not speaking out when we see injustice leads only to more trouble (Jeremiah 1:17).
Protecting someone from justice because we know them or like them is injustice (James 2:9, 1 Timothy 5:21).
It is good that the Colorado courts have made a ruling on this petition, originally filed in September, so that it can be resolved long before the coming election, as similar cases exist in other states. Judgments delayed are judgments denied (Luke 18:7).
We can be thankful that the Colorado Supreme Court had the wisdom to “stay” its own decision until January 4th to give Trump’s team a chance to respond. Humble judges are good judges (Proverbs 22:4).
It is not good that this decision was made despite the fact that Trump has not been charged or found guilty of “giving aid or comfort to those who engage in an insurrection against the Constitution of the United States.” This specific language in the cited amendment, immediately calls this ruling into question. (Exodus 23:1-2, 7).
The remnant’s focus should be on defending principles not parties, righteousness not Republican’s, doctrine not democrats, justice not justices. (Psalm 37:3, Exodus 20:3-4)
New SCOTUS Abortion Case
The U.S. Supreme Court is gearing up for a momentous case, its first on abortion since the 2022 overturn of Roe v. Wade, focusing on restrictions on Mifepristone. An appellate ruling threatens to limit the drug's access, potentially narrowing usage windows and restricting mail distribution. The Biden administration and Danco Laboratories, the drug's maker, fervently seek a reversal, emphasizing the importance of preserving "safe and effective medication for abortion," vital in over half of U.S. abortions since 2000.
Scheduled for early 2024, oral arguments prompt scrutiny of the Court's stance on FDA drug approval processes. Its legacy sparks questions about the role older laws play in shaping decisions that may redefine nationwide access to the abortion pill. The case's resonance is poised to influence the 2024 presidential and congressional campaigns, navigating the intersection of reproductive rights, legal history, and ever-changing societal norms.

The Remnant's Response
There is no such thing as a safe abortion. If an abortion is successful, then a human being dies every time. If you want to be educated on the truth about the abortion industry and the horrors of a "safe” chemical abortion, we highly recommend you watch Unplanned.
The liar, the one who has been a murderer from the beginning (John 8:44), loves to twist words and misrepresent truth in order to accomplish his purposes. Abortion is not safe, is not healthcare, is not something to shout about, and, because 100% of the time it takes an innocent life, it should not be called a woman's choice.
To their great shame, the right to an abortion is a cornerstone of the Democratic Party's platform (Romans 1:28, 32) which makes the current state of the DNC incompatible with the Christian worldview.
Believers cannot be silent on this issue (Isaiah 58:1). Those who think they would have stood loudly against the slave trade or Nazi Germany and their final solution, but are silent in the midst of the holocaust of the unborn are fooling themselves (Isaiah 59:3-4). The remnant is called to be stewards of the mystery of God (1 Corinthians 4:2), not sympathizers with the spirit of the age (1 John 2:15-16). The remnant speaks for those with no voice and defends the rights of the afflicted and needy (Proverbs 31:8-9).
Following the overturn of Roe v Wade it is now necessary to hear this case given that over 50% of all abortions are induced by medications.
Stop and pray for those involved in the abortion industry (1 Timothy 2:8), speak publicly about the issue (2 Timothy 2:24-25; Proverbs 24:11-12), care for those who are grieving their abortion decision, and support those who are courageously caring for children who others may have suggested they abort.

Pope Francis Welcomes “Blessing” Same-Sex Couples
Pope Francis has released a document officially allowing priests to perform blessings for same-sex couples, a decision viewed as historic by some LGBTQ+ advocates. The Vatican's doctrine office released a document reaffirming marriage as a sacrament between a man and a woman but stating that requests for blessings from same-sex couples should not be denied. GLAAD President Sarah Kate Ellis praised the move as part of a historic pattern from Pope Francis, recognizing LGBTQ+ people's worthiness of love and respect. While the document does not signal acceptance of same-sex marriage, it emphasizes the importance of blessings as a means to increase trust in God.

The Remnant's Response
Apart from a kind and firm return to the authority of Scripture, this pope and those who follow him will only slide further into compromise and confusion (Acts 20:29-30). Francis' decision is not a blessing to those who are same-sex attracted. Rome has consistently been playing with language that made this decree inevitable, and the remnant should respond by heeding the Lord’s decree to Jeremiah, “Now, gird up your loins and arise, and speak to them all which I command you. Do not be dismayed before them, or I will dismay you before them” (Jeremiah 1:17).
Scripture is unequivocally clear about the nature of blessings. (Deuteronomy 11:26-28) Blessings, according to the Bible, follow those who keep God's commands and walk in His way. Allowing any act that suggests approval of clearly sinful behavior is not only erroneous but also harmful (1 Timothy 4:15-16).
We bless others by welcoming them into the community of repentance and grace that is subject to the goodness and kindness of God, where the saints keep His commandments and delight in the knowledge that His commandments are not burdensome (1 John 5:3).
