Pro-Hamas Protests, BLM and Kamala Harris, Biden’s Address
“The greatest works are done by the ones. The hundreds do not often do much – the companies never; it is the units – the single individuals, that are the power and the might. Individual effort is, after all, the grand thing.”

Pro-Hamas Protests at Capitol
Thousands of protesters opposing the Israel-Hamas war gathered in Washington, D.C., to condemn Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address to Congress, with some clashing with police and being pepper-sprayed. While most of the demonstration was peaceful, tensions escalated as some protesters engaged in confrontations with law enforcement and vandalized property, resulting in at least 23 arrests. Netanyahu addressed the protests during his speech, criticizing the demonstrators and defending Israel's actions in Gaza. Vice President Kamala Harris condemned the violent actions of some protesters, emphasizing that associating with Hamas and desecrating the American flag are unacceptable.
The conduct displayed near Union Station in the District of Columbia Monday night is the latest example of the societal breakdown that signals judgment and ruin have descended upon our land (Judges 21:25). Lawlessness has been steadily increasing in the United States as disregard for the law of God continues to rise (Jeremiah 7:23-28). Solomon wisely observed that "when the sentence against an evil deed is not executed quickly, therefore the hearts of the sons of men among them are given fully to do evil" (Ecclesiastes 8:11).
While our Constitution's first amendment wisely grants the right of citizens to "peacefully assemble," nowhere does it allow for the destruction of property, disregard for the rule of law or illegal citizens, disenfranchised citizens, paid agitators, or government agents to stoke violence, desecrate monuments or burn government property. All involved in the events of July 24th need to be held accountable and disciplined to the full extent of the law (1 Peter 2:14-15). Anyone involved who was not a citizen of our country should have their visa revoked and be deported if they are here illegally, while those who are citizens should be fined and, where appropriate, imprisoned (Deuteronomy 1:16-17).
The same things should have happened in Kenosha, Seattle, Portland, and other cities in the summer of 2020. If there were a semblance of justice in our land, January 6th, 2021, would not be an outlier of prosecutorial intent. If the behavior displayed Monday night is not dealt with ferociously and immediately, it will continue to spread (Romans 16:17-18). The fact that our federal government allows this desecration of property, the celebration of evil, and the burning of the representation of our united commitment to one another is a sign they are not committed to our Constitution or wisdom, as a "wise king winnows the wicked, and drives the threshing wheel over them" (Proverbs 20:26). Radicals have proudly declared that they intend to use our Constitution and freedoms to destroy our Constitution and freedom, not thru peaceful protest but through the incitement of violence and chaos. A land gets what it tolerates (Deuteronomy 7:2-6). We need leaders who are unafraid to speak and act against childish, foolish, and evil acts (Proverbs 20:8).
Heed this warning- Kenosha, Seattle, and Union Station are the beginning of the chaos that will lead to trouble we have not seen since Lincoln if our nation's leaders don't "give stability to the land by justice" (Proverbs 29:4). Leaders lead (Psalm 101:8). Our nation is under judgment because we don't have leaders (Isaiah 3:1-5). Pray. Speak up. Act. Demand better of yourself and others (1 Corinthians 16:13-14).

BLM Has a Problem with Kamala
Black Lives Matter called on the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to host a virtual snap primary before the upcoming DNC convention in August, emphasizing the need for public participation in the nomination process instead of decisions made solely by party delegates. BLM criticizes the DNC for not hosting debates during the primary and for manipulating the primary schedule to favor Biden, and they express concern over the potential nomination of Kamala Harris without a public vote. BLM insists on a transparent and fair nomination process to ensure that democratic principles are upheld and that the voices of marginalized communities are heard.
Black Lives Matter has gotten a lot of things wrong. But, here, we have to agree. While it is likely that an organization as motivated by funds as BLM could change its tune after a “charitable donation” (Job 36:18), it is interesting to watch them raise their hand in protest against a candidate that staunchly supports the same leftist agenda they so passionately promote. The story here is that we are watching lines continue to blur and rules continue to change as this election gets nearer. If you are losing faith in the process of our nation’s election integrity, remember that it is the Lord who establishes and removes kings (Daniel 2:21).
Irrespective of the democratic processes at hand, it is concerning that a candidate so committed to biblically egregious policies could so quickly be embraced by so many, but that is another sign of our nation’s troubled state (Isaiah 5:20). May we stay ready and remnant-like as we seemingly move closer towards the fate of a nation who’s god is not the Lord (Deuteronomy 28:15).

Biden’s Oval Office Address
President Biden announced his decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race during his fourth Oval Office address. He stressed the necessity of new, younger leadership while praising Vice President Kamala Harris as a capable and experienced partner. Biden underscored the importance of "saving democracy" over personal ambition. Reflecting on his 50-year career and his sole term in the Oval Office, he highlighted key achievements such as appointing the first Black Supreme Court justice, his management of the pandemic, his handling of the economic growth, and climate policies enacted. While rare, it is not unprecedented for a sitting president to bow out of a re-election bid. However, Biden's departure is the first in over five decades, following Lyndon B. Johnson's decision in 1968, with no sitting President withdrawing this late in the race ever.
This comes only a short number of days after saying, "Only the Lord Almighty could convince me to quit."
If God was the one who convinced President Biden to step aside, then we can only pray that the Lord will be just as clear to his political counterparts and colleagues on policy matters regarding life, immigration, sex, marriage, and other morally important positions (John 10:27).
Scripture tells us that true leaders recognize when it is appropriate to step aside (Ecclesiastes 3:1-3). One might rightly question why this decision was not made months ago when it was already widely obvious he was cognitively unable to lead rather than now, just 102 days away from the 2024 election day and already past the Democratic primaries. It also continues to be troubling that the same logic is not applied to his current fitness for the job and how so many continue to pretend he has been or is presently able to perform his duties. It is obvious to all honest observers that to profess President Biden is fit for office is to make yourself look like a fool. Faithful friends would not disserve him or the nation this way (Proverbs 27:5-6).
This story serves as a good reminder for us all. While we may have plans in our hearts, it is the Lord’s purpose that will prevail (Proverbs 19:21). Juxtaposed with the condition of our fickle hearts are the purposes of His heart through all generations (Psalm 33:11). Let us continue to pray for our President, elected leaders, and presidential candidates (1 Timothy 2:1-2).
