Palestine Protests in DC

On November 4th, tens of thousands converged on Washington, D.C.'s Freedom Plaza for a massive rally dubbed the National March on Washington: Free Palestine. The gathering was a passionate plea for peace, urging an end to what participants called the siege on Gaza amid the recent Israel-Hamas conflict. The protest, backed by a coalition of over 500 groups and highlighted by a march to the White House, sought a cease-fire. The demonstrators' calls for action came amidst reports of heavy casualties on both sides, with U.S. officials advocating for humanitarian breaks rather than a full cease-fire. The event reflected a deep-seated call for an end to violence and the promotion of human dignity and safety for all involved.

The Remnant's Response

Tens of thousands of people rallying around an idea don’t make the idea worth rallying around. (Exodus 23:2) Elijah has shown us, “If 450 prophets of Baal say a foolish thing, it is still a foolish thing.” (1 Kings 18) As Anatole France said, “If a million people say a foolish thing, it is still a foolish thing.”

Fully prosecuting a war against a terrorist regime committed to doing evil is necessary and good. (Romans 13:3-4) Many Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip are themselves victims of Hamas, so the best way to ‘free Palestinians’ is to free them from the wicked leadership which keeps them at enmity with their neighbors. We are blessed in America to live in a land where ‘passionate’ individuals can gather together to articulate their views, but it is important to remember our first amendment allows for people to peaceably assemble, not violently.

Violent assembly is insurrectionist and should be treated as such. (Romans 13:3) Our nation has weakened these last years when weak and ineffective leadership has not prosecuted and stopped destructive assemblies. (Ecclesiastes 8:11) The remnant must be wise in what it supports. (Proverbs 13:20) Many groups choose names that on their surface appear to be something anyone committed to ‘seeking the welfare of the city’ would want to support, but under closer examination are actually organizations whose purpose betrays the goodness found in their names.

The American Civil Liberties Union, the Human Rights Campaign, the Center for Reproductive Rights, Black Lives Matter, the People for the American Way, Planned Parenthood, Americans United for Separation of Church and State, are just a few of the organizations whose actions betray the good that can be made of their name. Beware of those who come to us in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. (Matthew 7:15) The words of Paul to the remnant in Asia are just as relevant for us today: “Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.” (Ephesians 5:6) Be discerning. Judge the tree, the organization, and the man by their fruits. (Matthew 7:17-20)

Athletic Transgender Dominance

A biological male playing on a high school girls' field hockey team in Massachusetts caused injury to a female player from an opposing team during a game. The player from Swampscott High School struck a shot that hit the girl from Dighton-Rehoboth in the face, resulting in her hospitalization with serious injuries, including knocked-out teeth. The incident was highlighted by Riley Gaines, a former NCAA swim champion and activist, who posted a video of the event. The male player, Sawyer Groothuis, scored both points in the match and is allowed to compete in the women’s league due to state laws regarding gender identity in sports. The incident has raised concerns about the safety and fairness of allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports, with critics pointing out the potential for physical harm and the broader implications for female athletes.

Here are a few other stories that highlight men winning women’s events.

The Remnant's Response

May we not find ourselves continually silent in the face of the madness of our day. We write the Remnant News to inform, equip, and encourage you to action. (James 1:22) It is sin to remain silent when there is suffering and confusion if you know the Truth. (Leviticus 5:1) It is cowardice if the reason you are silent is because you fear man. (Galatians 1:10) This weekend a young woman suffered serious physical injury because Sawyer Groothius, a biological male, was allowed to compete against women. Unsurprisingly, Groothius scored the only two goals in the state playoff game. He is a conference "all-star" in the otherwise all-female league. It is one form of foolishness for males to take women’s places on teams, scholarships, championship titles, all-conference and all-state awards, but it is another thing to take their safety.

When we deny biological reality in the name of protecting men’s feelings from getting hurt, women get physically hurt. Deception and lies always hurt people. There are "six things the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to Him," (Proverbs 6:16-19) and it is no surprise that a lying tongue is among them.

  • It is a lie that gender is fluid.

  • It is a lie that gender is a social construct.

  • It is a lie that men and women are physically equal.

  • It is a lie that men are superior to women simply because they are physically stronger.

  • It is a lie that men and women are the same.

  • It is a lie that men and women share anything less than co-regency and honor before their Creator King.

  • It is a lie that men and women don’t share equal dignity and value.

  • It is a lie than men should marry men and women should marry women.

  • It is a lie that women can be husbands and men can be moms.

  • It is a lie that children don’t need a mother and a father as God intended.

  • It is a lie that there are no roles in marriage designed for men and women.

  • It is a lie that destroyed the oneness, love, and unity that God intended men and women to enjoy together (Genesis 3:1-19)

It is the Truth that will set us free (John 8:32) and it is the remnant's job to speak it. (Ephesians 4:25)
